M. P. Sorenson: Published Works

Chance and Hope Overview

If overviews aren’t your thing, skip to the book here.

Chance and Hope is a religious fantasy novella about the seven-year journey of the ghost of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol, culminating in the pivotal Christmas Eve in Ebenezer Scrooges’ life made immortal by Charles Dickens.

My own upbringing and The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis inspired this work. At its core, this book is about how we limit our own progression by holding ourselves to a standard of perfectionism that does not exist.

I tried very hard to keep all religious aspects of this book as non-denominational as possible so that any Christian of any faith could enjoy the tale, and non-Christians might have a better understanding of Christianity as a whole.

This book is very special to me, as it contains characters named after members of my own family that have left this world. It is my personal testimony of the Savior of the world in story form, a parable if you will, and how His grace is available to all who seek Him.
